We organize and fully sponsor a physician oncologic symposium each year at the Simon Kramer Institute. May 22, 2010 was the date of our 8th annual conference held at the Simon Kramer Institute. This annual conference is quickly becoming a premier regional oncology conference. Plans for 2011 are almost finalized!

We have actively promoted breast cancer screening and early detection in the region over the past two years, providing breast cancer education and screening, including a reduced fee or free mammogram to uninsured women within the community.

Thanks to events like the “Swing for a Cure” golf outing we are planning for Spring 2012, funding for future cancer screening and early detection initiatives within this region will become a reality! Breast cancer will continue to be a strong focus along with prostate, lung, colorectal, and skin cancer detection and community education. Physician and professional educational will also continue to be a primary focus. As in the past, we will continue to work to increase access to quality state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment options to uninsured and underinsured patients in this region.

Oncological Symposiums:
With education being a strong focus of our organization, we organize and fully sponsor a physician oncologic symposium each year at the Simon Kramer Institute. April 30, 2011 was the date of our 9th annual conference held at the Simon Kramer Institute. This annual conference is quickly becoming a premier regional oncology conference. We have been able to attract speakers and contributors from around the country who are leaders in the field of oncology. Each year, the conference is well-attended by many local and regional physicians and ancillary medical staff.Plans are currently underway for this year's symposium!The 10th Annual Symposium will be held on May 5, 2012. The Educational & Scientific Trust of the Simon Kramer Institute is a community-bases not for profit (501c3) health organization dedicated to saving lives from the debilitation of cancer through increased cancer awareness, screening, the promotion of early detection, and professional education in Schuylkill and Carbon County and surrounding areas. Through advocacy, service, and financial assistance, the trust is committed to providing access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment options for all cancer patients within the region regardless of their ability to pay. We strive to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish the suffering of cancer patients and their families through the empowerment that cancer education and awareness provide.
